Maintenance Advice For Original Timber Finishes
KITCHEN floors advice! – Please note an extra coat of finish should be applied to give extra protection from grease and fats. The customer must purchase a spray mop with the correct cleaning products we recommend. This will affect the Original Timber guarantee.
Additional points
Never over wash the surface finish.
Sweep and vacuum regularly instead.
Remember to not let your customers clean their new floors for a least the first 2-3 weeks. This applies to the following finishes: Matt waxoil, Wax sheen oil, Wax gloss, Satin waxoil & Natural matt waxoil.
Eco oil, Lacquered and UV oiled finishes can be washed once installed.
Do not use an oil maintenance product over hardwax oil; it could make the wax go patchy.
Please note if you want to re-coat a white waxoil finish with a clear top coat, try a small area first to make sure the colour does not strip off . Alternatively use another coat of the original white waxoil.
Our “Wax sheen oil” has a higher content of wax and like a wax floor a little more maintenance is required to maintain the sheen.
Should it be necessary to cover your floor for protection, there should be no tape or adhesive used on the floor, only an overlapping method.
